Google introduced two new generative media models, Veo and Imagen 3, at Google I/O 2024. Veo is designed to generate high-definition videos, while Imagen 3 focuses on text-to-image generation. Veo is capable of producing 1080p videos longer than a minute, showcasing an understanding of cinematic terms like timelapse and aerial shots.
The updated Imagen 3 has improved natural language understanding and the ability to incorporate details from longer prompts. Google claims Imagen 3 is the best model for rendering text, addressing issues like misspellings commonly seen in image generation AI models. Additionally, Google hinted at a suite of AI tools called Music AI Sandbox for creating instrumental sections and transforming sound, with partnerships including Wyclef Jean, Marc Rebillet, and Justin Tranter.
