Exclusive: meet Haiper 1.5, the new AI video generation model challenging Sora, Runway

Haiper, a London-based AI video startup founded by former Google Deepmind researchers Yishu Miao and Ziyu Wang, has launched a new visual foundation model called Haiper 1.5. This model allows users to generate 8-second-long video clips from text, image, and video prompts, doubling the length of its initial model.

The company also introduced an upscaler capability to enhance content quality and announced plans to venture into image generation. Haiper, despite being at a nascent stage and less funded compared to other AI startups, has onboarded over 1.5 million users and aims to expand its user base with a suite of AI products to compete with Runway and other players in the field.
