Chinese AI start-up Zhipu introduced its video generation model, Ying, showcasing the increasing competition among Chinese tech firms against OpenAI's Sora. The Ying model allows users to create six-second video clips in around 30 seconds by inputting text and image prompts, with options for different styles and themes.
Kuaishou, a rival of ByteDance's Douyin, also launched its Kling video model recently, further intensifying the competition in the AI video generation sector. While OpenAI's Sora remains unavailable for public use, Zhipu's CogVideoX model, inspired by Sora's algorithm design, promises faster video generation with improved inferencing speed.
