Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett announced Jamaica's focus on becoming a global hub for tourism innovation at the official Meet and Greet Event for Cohort 2 of the Tourism Innovation Incubator. Launched by the Tourism Enhancement Fund, the programme aims to revolutionize Jamaica's tourism sector by nurturing groundbreaking ideas. The 2024 cohort, selected from 222 applicants, includes innovators with diverse ideas ranging from immersive experiences to sustainable solutions.

The selected innovators, consisting of 12 women and 10 men aged 19 to 68, represent various parishes in Jamaica. Their ideas cover a wide spectrum, including underwater experiences, cultural immersions, AR/VR tours, sustainable transport solutions, and innovative use of AI and blockchain in tourism. Bartlett emphasized that the Tourism Innovation Incubator showcases Jamaica's commitment to leading the tourism industry globally.
