UNESCO and LG AI to Develop a Global Massive Open Online Course on Ethics of Artificial Intelligence

UNESCO and LG AI Research have joined forces to create a global Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) focused on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The initiative aims to promote ethical practices in the development and deployment of AI technologies. The partnership was announced during the AI Seoul Summit on 22 May 2024.

The Ethics of AI MOOC will be based on the Global Recommendation on the Ethics of AI adopted by all UNESCO Member States in 2021. It will offer comprehensive educational resources to empower AI practitioners, researchers, policymakers, and advocates with the necessary knowledge and tools to navigate the ethical landscape of AI. Dr. Kyunghoon Bae, President of LG AI Research, and Ms. Soohyun Kim, Director of the UNESCO Regional Office in Bangkok, were key figures at the signing ceremony.
