Aldrin Sojourner Gamayon, a 22-year-old student from Ateneo De Manila University, has developed AgriConnect, an AI-powered app designed to assist farmers in managing risks associated with diseases, pests, and climate change. His innovative solution won the Red Bull Basement World Finals in Tokyo, making him the first Filipino to achieve this honor. Gamayon's app aims to reduce production loss by providing real-time data to farmers, translating complex information into an easy-to-understand traffic light system.
Inspired by the challenges faced by farmers in his home province, Gamayon is committed to enhancing the agricultural sector through technology. He plans to participate in a three-week immersion program in Silicon Valley to further develop AgriConnect and expand its impact. With the support of Ateneo's startup incubation program, he is determined to empower farmers and improve their livelihoods.
