SLB helping Norway operator develop AI-driven technologies, move to the cloud

Energy services giant SLB is collaborating with Aker BP to create an artificial intelligence-driven platform for the Norway operator's exploration and production activities. SLB will utilize its Delfi platform to transition Aker BP's current workflow app portfolio to the cloud, enabling the use of AI to enhance innovation and efficiency. The financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed by either party.

The partnership aims to revolutionize Aker BP's subsurface workflows by accelerating planning cycles, boosting production, and reducing costs throughout the E&P life cycle. SLB's president of digital and integration, Rakesh Jaggi, highlighted the commitment to continuously enhance Aker BP's platform for increased efficiency and sustainable energy production. Aker BP anticipates that leveraging the cloud for data-driven subsurface workflows will enhance efficiency, value creation, and reduce environmental impact.
