Singapore Invests Close to S$300 million in National Quantum Strategy and Announces Green Data Centre Roadmap for Sustainable Growth

Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Heng Swee Keat, announced an investment of close to S$300 million into Singapore's National Quantum Strategy (NQS) to advance the Quantum industry. The investment aims to strengthen Singapore's position as a leading hub in quantum technologies over the next five years. Additionally, the Green Data Centre (DC) Roadmap was launched to guide digital sustainability and green growth pathways for DCs.

The National Quantum Strategy (NQS) will focus on initiatives such as elevating the Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT) to a flagship national research center and establishing the National Quantum Sensor Programme. Singapore is also working on the Model AI Governance Framework for GenAI and collaborating with Rwanda on an AI Governance Playbook for Small States. The Green DC Roadmap aims to provide additional capacity for data centers through green energy deployments and innovative energy efficiency measures.
