S. Korea to inject $70m into AI-powered public education

The South Korean government has announced a significant investment of $70 million into AI-powered public education, focusing on improving digital infrastructure and developing digital textbooks for elementary, middle, and high schools. The initiative aims to leverage artificial intelligence to enhance teaching and learning experiences while reducing the burden on schools and teachers in managing digital resources.

To support the implementation of AI-powered digital textbooks, the Education Ministry plans to allocate funds for improving network conditions in 6,000 schools this year, with an additional 6,000 schools to be inspected next year. The introduction of 'digital tutors' and technical support centers will provide assistance to teachers in handling equipment and technical issues, ensuring a smooth transition towards digital education.
