Over a year, 175 state employees from 14 agencies utilized ChatGPT Enterprise for various tasks, achieving an impressive average of 95 minutes of regained productivity each day. The pilot program, launched in January 2024, is part of a broader strategy to responsibly integrate AI into government operations.
The collaboration with OpenAI and Carnegie Mellon University highlighted the program's success in enhancing workflows across multiple departments. With nearly half of the participants being new to ChatGPT, over 85% reported positive experiences, indicating the tool's user-friendly nature. Governor Shapiro emphasized that AI is a complement to human expertise, aiming for expanded training and further applications in legal analysis and customer service.
