OpenAI has launched ChatGPT's Advanced Voice Mode for web users, allowing real-time voice interactions directly from browsers. This feature, announced by Kevin Weil, is initially available to paying subscribers, including Plus, Enterprise, Teams, and Edu users. The rollout follows its successful introduction in mobile apps last month.
Advanced Voice Mode leverages GPT-4o's audio capabilities to facilitate natural conversations, responding to both verbal and non-verbal cues. Users can select from nine distinct voice options, each with unique tones, enhancing the interaction experience. OpenAI plans to extend access to free users in the near future, providing a monthly preview of the feature.
