Zhihu, China's Quora-like platform, has launched a new AI-powered search-and-answer feature called Zhida. This feature utilizes generative artificial intelligence to automatically search, summarize, and generate answers to users' questions. The platform's founder, Zhou Yuan, unveiled this innovative offering at an event in Beijing.

Zhihu's move to incorporate AI technology aligns with the trend among Chinese tech companies to enhance online services using generative AI. Tencent Holdings, an early supporter of Zhihu, integrated its large language model (LLM) into various services, including Tencent Meeting and Tencent Docs. Alibaba Group Holding also integrated its Tongyi Qianwen LLM into DingTalk to improve workplace communications.
