Apple's artificial intelligence features to be delayed, says report

Apple's upcoming artificial intelligence features are facing delays and will not be included in the initial launch of the new iPhone and iPad software updates. The AI features are now expected to be rolled out in October through software updates, following the release of iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 in September. Apple is planning to make the AI features available to software developers for early testing via iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 betas.

The report highlights that Apple's AI push includes features that use AI to generate text, images, and other content on command. These features will be available on specific devices such as the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and iPad and Mac with the M1 chip and later versions. The delay in launching new AI features was influenced by European Union tech rules that require Apple to ensure compatibility with rival products and services.
