Americans Have Mixed Feelings About AI in Health Care, Poll Finds

A recent national survey reveals that most Americans believe artificial intelligence can enhance health care. The poll indicates that a significant majority sees AI as a tool to reduce human errors, cut wait times, and allow doctors to concentrate more on patient care. However, concerns about data privacy and the implications of AI in health care remain prevalent among the population.

The Ohio State University conducted the survey, highlighting that while 75% of respondents think AI can minimize errors, 56% still find its use in health care somewhat intimidating. A pilot program utilizing Microsoft-developed AI showed promising results, saving doctors time during patient visits, which could lead to improved patient interactions. Despite some initial hesitations, many health care providers are recognizing the potential benefits of AI technology.
