Accenture: Responsible Gen AI adoption could add extra of 4.5 trillion in economic value in APAC over the next 15 years

New research from Accenture reveals that generative AI adoption could potentially contribute an additional 4.5 trillion USD in economic value to the Asia-Pacific region over the next 15 years. This economic boost would equate to a 0.7 percentage points increase in annual GDP growth, emphasizing the importance of responsible adoption and focus on people.

The study, which encompassed Australia, China, India, Japan, and Singapore, highlighted that 33% of working hours in APAC could be automated or augmented by generative AI, leading to increased productivity. However, despite the significant impact of gen AI recognized by 96% of APAC business leaders, only 4% have implemented gen AI training at scale, indicating a gap in workforce development.
