Roblox has unveiled its new 3D model, Cube, which utilizes generative AI to help creators design 3D objects. This open-source model allows users outside the platform to build upon it, enhancing creativity and customization. The Cube's initial tool, mesh generation, enables users to create 3D representations of objects with simple prompts, such as generating an orange racing car.
In addition to mesh generation, Roblox plans to introduce more AI tools, including text generation, text-to-speech, and speech-to-text functionalities. These tools will empower developers to create interactive experiences, allowing players to engage with non-player characters through conversation and voice commands. The long-term vision for Roblox includes achieving fully functional 3D objects and scenes, referred to as 4D creation, which emphasizes interaction among various elements.
