India AI mission to be key priority for telecom ministry

The U.S. and India have agreed to enhance strategic cooperation in artificial intelligence, semiconductors, quantum, telecommunications, space, biotechnology, clean energy, and other critical technology sectors. The collaboration aims to align with democratic values, respect human rights, and ensure security and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region. The second meeting of the U.S.-India initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology emphasized concrete measures to address challenges in bilateral trade and technology cooperation.

To strengthen defense innovation, discussions are ongoing regarding India's procurement of MQ-9B unmanned aerial systems and co-production of ground warfare systems. The two countries are also accelerating the adoption of commercial technologies for military platforms and expanding defense industrial partnerships. The collaboration includes initiatives in artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and high-performance computing, among other areas.
