Google recently showcased a new AI feature called Project Astra at its I/O developer conference, which integrates a chatbot with a camera viewfinder on smart glasses. The demo displayed a woman using these smart glasses to interact with the chatbot, receiving real-time assistance and information.
Despite the intriguing demonstration, it is unlikely that these smart glasses are a precursor to Google Glass 2, as the company had reportedly shelved a previous AR glasses project in favor of focusing on AR software development. The smart glasses shown in the demo are speculated to be running an early version of Google's micro-XR platform for AR glasses.
