A total of 101 local students have enrolled in Malaysia's first Faculty of Artificial Intelligence at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). This pioneering cohort is part of a larger intake of 3,154 new students for the 2024/2025 academic session. The new faculty aims to leverage AI as a catalyst for innovation across various sectors.
The faculty will offer a three-year Bachelor of AI with Honours program, enhancing UTM's existing foundation in AI through the Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (CAIRO). The initiative reflects a commitment to integrating AI into diverse fields such as manufacturing, finance, and renewable energy, ensuring that students are well-prepared for future challenges.
